Your laser hair removal treatment will be done over the course of 6 treatment sessions. This is because the hair grows in multiple stages and will need a series of treatments to reach full reduction. Most patients will achieve full reduction after 6 sessions, however additional sessions may be needed depending on density of hair. Patients with hormonal imbalances may need more than 6 treatments and will likely need to do routine maintenance touch-ups annually.

Can I wax before my Laser Hair Removal appointment?
No. Refrain from waxing 6 weeks before your laser hair removal appointment. The laser is attracted to the pigment of your hair in the follicle. Therefore, if the hair has been removed by waxing, the laser will have no pigment to pull. This can not only result in an ineffective treatment, but can cause potential burning, scarring, and other adverse reactions. However, your hair does need to be freshly shaved for your appointment. We recommend shaving 24 hours beforehand for optimal results.
How long will my appointment take?
Treatment time in office will depend on what area and how many areas are being treated. However, Sciton’s BareHR is the fastest laser hair removal device on the market, making your appointment as quick and effective as possible.
What areas can I treat with Laser Hair Removal?
All areas of the body can be treated with the Sciton BareHR from full face, neck, underarms, back, abdomen, areolas, bikini/Brazilian, legs, and arms.
Am I a candidate for Laser Hair Removal?
We can treat all Fitzpatricks (I – VI) using Sciton BareHR. If you are unfamiliar with the Fitzpatrick scale, it simply means we can treat all skin types and tones. Non-candidates for laser hair removal would be anyone with hair lacking pigment such as blonde, gray, or red hair.
Can I do Laser Hair Removal while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for Laser Hair Removal treatments while pregnant. We can treat while breastfeeding. However, hair growth can be directly affected by hormone fluctuations experienced postpartum or while breastfeeding. Therefore, you may require touch up treatments if sessions are started while breastfeeding.
Can I do Laser Hair Removal year-round?
While Laser Hair Removal can potentially be done year-round, patients must have no recent sun exposure prior nor immediately post to receive treatment, making fall-winter peak time for laser hair removal. Sun exposure immediately before and after your treatment puts you at risk for complications such as hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, burns, or scarring.
